On this website you will find documents which discuss various aspects of modern Uyghur (also referred to as Uighur) grammar.
The documents are written with advanced language learners and others who are linguistically interested in mind. Some of the material is quite practical and simple to understand, some is more elaborate and technical.
Examples are largely taken from published Uyghur literature, not elicited.
The transcription follows the Uyghur Latin Yéziqi.
On this site no attempt is made to present a comprehensive grammar of Uyghur. Rather, certain issues are discussed which have not been dealt with as extensively in the available reference works.
Some of the conclusions presented here are tentative. Corrections and discussion are invited.
